Vs. Marvel Films Phase 2 ASSEMBLE! - Comic-Con 2012

In your face DC!

 BOOM! Marvel just dropped a massive pile of shit on DC with the official announcement of  "Phase-Two" of their self produced movies.


I grew up as a Marvel fan (thanks in part to the popularity of X-men in the 90s), but have found myself to be an avid DC follower as an adult. However, with their respective comic adaptions, Marvel appears to have a better grasp on what story they want to tell and the direction they want to take in getting there. I applaud Marvel for that, as it clearly paid off with the critical and commercial success that was The Avengers.

With this huge announcement, I'm ecstatic! No, not just excited, I am totally geeking out now. So aside from Iron Man 3 next summer, they will also be releasing the Thor sequel entitled Thor: The Dark World. In 2014 Captain America's second installment, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, will be debuting. Yes, you read that right, Marvel is headed down that path and I am pumped. Marvel has also announced an adaptation for Ant-Man with Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World) helming the project. I'm definitely psyched for this too as I am a big fan of his films and the creativeness he brings to them. If that wasn't enough, there is one more to add to it. It's like icing on the cake and with this news, I keep checking whether it's my birthday or not because it surely feels like it. The other big Marvel movie accompanying Captain America in 2014 is..... Guardians of the Galaxy! Star Lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Groot and mothereffing Rocket Raccoon! "Phase-Two" of Marvel's film universe is now in full throttle, next summer cannot come any sooner. Come get some Thanos!
