Vs. Where The Hell Have You Been Bond? You've Been Missed!

Glad to finally have you back Mr. Bond

Rip the rear off of a train, leap onto the rear of said train, adjust cufflinks whilst looking calmly cool; consider me officially sold! I've missed you James Bond, it's been a torturous wait since your last big screen outing.

The latter half of 2012 has several high profile movies on my must see list such as Rian Johnson's Looper, Tarantino's Djano Unchained, Disney's Wreck-It-Ralph, Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master, Les Misreables, and Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.  I've always been an avid Bond fan and ever since the franchise was rebooted with Casino Royale, Daniel Craig's Bond has emerged as the quintessential Bond in my eyes. This being said, I'm ashamed to admit that Bond 23 has seemingly stayed under my radar of anticipated films for 2012... until now. With the release of the new trailer,  Skyfall has resurfaced amidst the aforementioned films and has taken its well deserved spot at the top of my list.

I'm glad that Sam Mendes has taken the reins as director this time around as Marc Forster's Quantum of Solace was somewhat of a letdown considering how well Casino Royale nailed the recreation of Bond. MGM and crew have raisen the stakes this time around as the trailer hints at some major shakeups to the Bond universe as the scope of the story has a more epic scale to it with the new threat hitting closer to home. Whereas QOS was directly tied with the events of Casino Royale, Mendes and his team have mentioned this will be a stand-alone story with no reference to Quantum (the organization behind the circumstances that transpired in Craig's first feature as Bond).

The teaser a few months back provided viewer's a quick peek into what looked like a confrontation with more personal connections to Bond and M. This new trailer successfully imparts a better sense of what the movie has to offer with the satisfaction comparable to a well aged drink; hitting you straight, no chaser needed. I am extremely pumped for this and November cannot come any sooner. There's the American release and International trailer. I personally prefer the international one. The pacing and the arrangement of the scene selections are suitably constructed.

Highlights of the trailer:
-Bond battling a baddie above a moving train
-Bond falling from train
-Great shot of an explosion as M and an officer stand on a rooftop
-Q and Bond, Walther PPK! "Less of a random killing spree, more of a personal statement."
-Love the shot with Bond on a boat in China
-The sequence as Javier Bardem's Raoul Silva approaches a captured Bond
-The first line of this post
-Lastly, this shot of Bardem

The Bond baddie incarnation of Satan

Both trailers can be viewed below. First is the American release followed by the International trailer.
